A steamy addition to the kitchen.
March 8th, 2009
The Smeg SC45V2 Linear Compact Steam Oven, with a large cavity (35 litres net) and compact size (just 45cm in height) is the ideal item to complete a kitchen in which there is already a traditional oven.
Many benefits derive from steam cooking. Steam cooks food homogenously at low temperatures, it preserves the nutritional value, flavour and aroma of food and gives the possibility to cook in a healthy and natural manner without the addition of fat.
It is also useful for defrosting rapidly, and for reheating foods without altering their consistency and whilst naturally desalinizing foods preserved with salt.
An intuitive double digital display with white LEDs allows the user to easily regulate the functions; it is possible, for example, to set a delay timer (up to 24 hours) to automatically switch the oven on and begin cooking, or to choose between 6 versatile cooking programmes, including one special ecological programme which reduces the electric consumption of the oven from 3.40kW to 2kW.
Technologically advanced and safe, the SC45V2 is electronically controlled, allowing the temperature to be very precisely regulated in intervals of 5°C; it also incorporates a safety device for children, where it is possible to block all of the commands for peace of mind when children are in the kitchen.
The design is clean, sophisticated and frameless, and can easily be matched with other co-ordinating Smeg products to create an elegant kitchen in perfect Smeg style.
Materials
Made exclusively from materials of high quality, such as fingerprint-proof stainless steel and Stopsol® glass, the SC45V2 has a number of pre-set recipes developed to aid the user in steam cooking — the cook time and suggested function of certain meat, fish and vegetable dishes are automatically set.
