Using traditional basket-maker techniques, the seat of the Miralook, made of coloured polypropylene, has a section of bevelled gaps like latticework, throwing dynamic geometric shadows.

Javier Mariscal, founder of Estudio Mariscal, has lived and worked in Barcelona from 1970. Renowned for his furniture and graphic design Mariscal established the first underground comic book in Spain and and in 1979 created the ‘Bar Cel Ona’ logo – shooting him to international design fame.

Since then Mariscal has worked with some of the world’s most famous designers and architects, from Arata Isozaki and Alfredo Arribas to Fernando Amat and Pepe Cortés. A major retrospective of Mariscal’s work, Drawing Life, is currently on display at the London Design Museum (until 1 November).

The Miralook captures the playful, graphical, yet elegant nature of Mariscal’s design aesthetic – the colourful seat coupled with polished anodised aluminium legs – the 25 x 2mm tube complying with standards UE AFNOR AGS and USA AA 6063 – and polypropylene glides.

Miralook provides the perfect place to sit and enjoy the summer sun and is available in 12 distinct colours: chocolate, oliva, pistachio, mango, mandarina, melocotón, blanco, graffito, bauxite, navy fucsia and rojo.
