Nordic purism meets timeless elegance in Luv, a gentle bathroom range from Duravit, where form follows meaning in sharp geometry.
Luv’s unusual, unhurried design combines Scandinavian design ideals with classic grace. The selection of materials and colors is testament to Danish designer Cecilie Manz’s refined sense for nuanced forms. The color palate of matt lacquers and glazes in soft shades was developed exclusively for Duravit to emphasize the fresh character of Luv.
“When I was drawing up my design for Duravit, the image in my mind’s eye from the very start was a bowl filled with water on a simple table,” says Cecilie Manz. This image inspired the Luv bathroom series, which affords brand new design opportunities for larger rooms or guest bathrooms.
The range has three sizes of oval above-counter basins made from DuraCeram impressing with their subtle lines, generous inner basins, and clean edges. The optionally glazed exterior is available in satin matte White, Grey or Sand. This contrast with the glossy white glazed inner basin produces a range of unique pieces with a special look and feel. Ceramic drain covers complete and overall harmonious look.
The washbasin stand consists of a console table on four gently curved feet in three different widths. Using this unique design language, Cecilie Manz has skillfully realised the original image of a table and water bowl she saw in her mind. Lacquered in satin matte and available in a variety of colours the console tables contribute significantly to the feeling of space.
The series is completed by new mirrors in three widths ranging from 500 to 1600 mm with an integrated dimming function and mirror heating.
Luv also offers no-nonsense bathtubs that are based on the shape of the washbowls. Seamless in design, they offer a pleasantly warm feel and high-quality matte look. They are available in freestanding, back-to-wall and corner versions.
