Presenting another successful furniture solution from Blok Furniture with Bracton Chambers’ Brisbane offices.
October 14th, 2009
First impressions count, and Blok Furniture has been recently commissioned to create an elegant yet contemporary statement in the form of custom furniture for Bracton Chambers’ new Brisbane offices.
Bracton Chambers’ 10+ members had called the MLC Centre home since the late 70’s where their chambers had sported an infamous collection of period furniture from the same era. Their new premises at the recently completed Santos House (formally known as Northbridge) called for an update of their image and working environment.
Blok’s brief was to design and manufacture a table that would be the focal point of the central reception area, an informal space for clients to relax with the newspaper or for members to meet for a discussion or social function. ’¨’¨The table needed to seat eight, but with the option to extend and seat up to 14, it had to be constructed from solid timber and to complement the warm tones and clean lines of the interior fit-out by Hassell.
Designer Richard Park developed a stylish version of his Romani table constructed in solid spotted gum, with a matching console positioned adjacent to the table. ’¨’¨When required, the console splits into two separate, identical wings –added to each end of the main table to extend it to seat 14 people – complemented by classic wishbone chairs.
Blok Furniture has developed a reputation for crafting affordable, high quality Australian made products, available on reliable lead times nationwide. With a solid client base, an expanding range and a growing portfolio of custom projects for interiors designers and architects, Blok continues to provide innovative solutions for both commercial and residential environments.
