The latest collaboration from Designer Rugs brings Australia’s foremost fashion designer back to his Greek ancestry.
October 16th, 2009
One of Australia’s most renowned fashion designers, Alex Perry, has launched his latest collection. However, this fashion won’t be hitting the catwalk, this is destined for the floor.
The collection is the latest collaboration for Designer Rugs and combines Greek inspirations with red carpet glamour to deliver stunning hand-made 100% New Zealand rug designs.
“I wanted to pay homage to my Greek heritage striving to create something timeless and striking. Each Design tells a different story, revealing a distinct aspect of Greece and myself,” Perry explains.
These unique designs include ‘PALATI’, inspired by an intricate gate seen in the National Gardens in Athens and ‘IPOGRAFI’ featuring mahongany, white, lime and gun metal grey, while ‘PSARKI’ alludes to an underwater journey in the Aegean Sea.
“Alex has a certain Jois de vivre and approach to life that is incredibly positive and this reflects in his design ethos,” says Designer Rugs Managing Director, Yosi Tal. ’¨’¨
“We are very excited to collaborate with another of Australia’s leading designers. His rugs are true to his Greek ancestry and bring a fresh wave of colour to the Designer Rugs collections.”
The Alex Perry designs, available in the standard 200 x 300 cm size can be custom-coloured and sized to suit both commercial and residential interiors.
