Screenwood create beautiful modular timber systems for acoustic ceiling solutions
February 5th, 2013
A ceiling of solid timber slats gives warmth to any interior. Popular for their proven acoustic performance, Screenwood’s Ceiling Tiles also have PEFC certification – ensuring the use of only sustainably forested timber.
This makes possible a whole range of aesthetic options, from Spotted Gum to Hoop Pine and Western Red Cedar, in finishings from clear to espresso. Designed and engineered for use within a standard 24mm two-way grid system, Screenwood Ceiling Tiles allow for efficient lay-in installation and ease of ongoing maintenance and access to building services.

Screenwood Ceiling Tiles were recently used by the University of Queensland. As part of a sympathetic restoration of their historical medical school building, they chose Hoop Pine with a solid white paint coating. In other parts of the campus they used Western Red Cedar with a clear coating. Screenwood’s beautiful modular timber systems ensure that even large rooms full of talking students remain acoustically comfortable.
