Buchan is proud to announce the promotion of Emma Ridings from its Gold Coast studio and Nicola Palmer from its Auckland studio to the role of Principal from 1 July 2019, acknowledging their notable contribution to the continued success of Buchan.
“It is great to recognise the hard work and exceptional results achieved by both Emma and Nicola in their respective studios and for the wider business,” said Buchan CEO Andries Meyer.
The promotions bring Buchan’s Principal numbers to 33 across Australia, New Zealand and the United Kingdom.
Melbourne-based design studio Carr has announced the promotion of two Associate Directors – Rosie Morley and Stephen McGarry.
Directors Dan Cox and Chris McCue announced the promotion and commended the designers on their ‘impactful contribution and firm commitment to the ongoing success and growth of the practice’.
In celebrating the appointment of the new Associate Directors, Sue Carr, founding Principal noted: “I’m pleased to acknowledge and support the inspiring talent that continues to enrich our leadership team and design process. These appointments demonstrate a commitment to the future and a tenacity for embracing new design thinking, both crucial to the continued success of Carr.”
The Board of Carriageworks is delighted to announce the appointment of Blair French as the new Chief Executive Officer. French will commence the role in August 2019.
The Chairman of Carriageworks Sam Mostyn said, “After a comprehensive national and international search process, we have no doubt Blair is the right person to lead the next era of Carriageworks.”
Melbourne-based design studio GOLDEN has announced its appointment of Daniel Stellini as Studio Director. Stellini brings over 26 years of experience in the interior design industry to the studio.
HASSELL has announced the promotion of seven people across its Australian and Asian offices to the role of Principal.
“The number of promotions this year highlights our focus on being bold and confident in empowering and developing talent from within the business. It also reflects a better and more balanced representation of our practice including its geographic locations,” says Managing Director Steve Coster on the announcement, adding that each of the new Principals brings a focus on strategic intelligence and creative design.
In Australia, Natalie Busch, Ed Mitchell, Evodia Alaterou, and Keith Allen have been made Principals, as have Chong Wang, Tamagin Blake-Smith, and Klevis Koco in Asia.
Kristy Ball joins Hot Black’s Sydney team as the Architectural Division lead and Sydney Studio Manager. Kristy has 15 years experience in multi-residential, retail and single dwelling architecture, strengthening Hot Black’s multi-disciplined approach to design.
Award-winning architecture studio John Wardle Architects has announced 10 new appointments. The promotions and new hires reflect the studio’s commitment to diversity and creating strong leadership – which also comes in the face of a new ownership structure.
In the most senior of these appointments, Mathew van Kooy and James Loder move to Principal roles. Additional appointments recognise the talent and commitment of key team leaders across the practice. Amanda Moore becomes Senior Associate, and moving into Associate roles are Ariani Anwar, Charlotte Churchill, Megan Darbyshire, Akshay Rajan, Alexandra Morrison, Ingrid Schreiber-France and Meron Tierney.
PTW recently announced two new appointments – Julian Escobar Uribe has been promoted as a Director in PTW Vietnam. With over 28 years of practice experience in Australia and Spain, Julian brings a strategic and conceptual approach to architectural design to ensure successful development and construction.
In Australia, Neša Marojević has been promoted to the role of Director with the vision to support PTW’s ongoing commitment to design excellence. Marojević joined PTW in early 2018 after working as a consultant and bring 30 years of experience in Australia and Europe to the table.
Adelaide design studio Studio Gram has announced the appointment of Olivier Martin to Associate. Olivier started with the practice in 2016 and has seen it grow in that time, taking on more leadership roles and successfully leading a number of larger scale projects.
