Interviewing has to be one of the best parts of an editor’s job and this particular assignment – an anniversary interview with Gray Puksand – has been a true highlight. In this podcast Alice Blackwood speaks with founding partner, Robert Puksand, about what it means to turn 30 years old – or “young” as Robert notes.
As specialists in education, commercial and workplace design, the practice champions a people-first culture and collective intelligence.
Committed to mentoring design talent and nurturing career growth for staff, the firm’s partner group has witnessed its evolution from a small Melbourne-based studio into a national practice with four offices in Canberra, Brisbane, Melbourne, and Sydney, and over 140 staff.

“Investing in people has been the most rewarding part of the job,” says Robert. “The practice’s success is a result of having a quality team by my side, and this has enabled continual growth not only in the amount of projects we receive and deliver, but in development of our expertise and strengthening of our relationships.”
Listen to the full podcast to hear from Robert directly on what it means to be people-first; to invest in and carry out collective intelligence; what his favourite projects are; where the future of work is going; and so much more.
Congratulations Gray Puksand on turning 30 years young.
