As part of the creative team at Spain’s Sancal, Rafa García has charmed and delighted with this numerous furniture designs.
October 7th, 2015
Prolific and driven, Rafa has long been part of the creative heart of Sancal. Having designed over 50 products for the Spanish design label, Rafa is well deserving of his accolades and success. Creator of such classical pieces such as Air and Eleva and the very successful Happen lounge and Rock tables, Rafs’s more recent Folk and Soul collections have played with slightly retro elements
The most recent collections from Rafa García are the TipToe, Nap and the REW sofa. The REW is a versatile sofa and bench system designed for resting, eating or working. It’s available with steel lacquered black feet, or ash feet that can be stained in various colours.
Also newly available is the Nido range. Spanish for rest, the Nido chair is created with a hand crafted wooden frame, and upholstery available in two versions: with a zip or with piping. The version with a zip is soft and loose and enables the seating area to be removed. However, the version with piping is fixed and pulled tight. Both the zip and piping are always in black. The back and sides of the upholstered area are tailored to show off the chair’s lines, juxtaposed against the soft seating area.
Rafa García’s range is available in Australia through Kezu
