Bolon and Missoni’s combined history and expertise in design come together at their 2019 flooring collection launch.
November 22nd, 2019
Celebrating its Bolon collection launch in Australia, The Andrews Group held events in Melbourne, Sydney and Perth throughout October in which colour and history featured heavily.
The collection is the product of collaboration between Bolon and Missoni and with the common background shared by the two companies it is easy to see why they came together. Both Bolon and Missoni began as family businesses, both with mid-20th century origins, both originating from small European towns and both with a reputation for bridging traditional technology, in their use of looms, with contemporary design.
The results of their combined labour is a flooring collection featuring vibrant colours and bold patterns. The collection has taken Bauhaus master of colour, Johannes Itten’s words to heart “Colour is life, for a world without colour seems dead,” and used that as inspiration in keeping colour central to their design.
“We are so proud of our long-term relationship with the Missoni family which has led to some creative and bold collections over the years,” says Annica Eklund, Bolon’s Chief Creative Officer. “The 2019 collection is an eye-catching explosion of colours that will suit well for any interior projects with a one of a kind desire.”
