Gregory Commercial Furniture welcome entries to their 2009 Creative Vibe Competitionâ„¢
January 30th, 2009
Gregory Commercial Furniture is proud to announce the winner of the 2008 Creative Vibe Competition™ – Chris Hardy’s ‘San’.
The Creative Vibe design Competition™ was launched in 2006 and is open to entrants from Australia and New Zealand to submit their designs for the theme outlined in their design brief.
The judging team of Maree Draper, Kevin Brookes, Mathew Sheargold and Amanda Stanaway review the entries and interview the shortlisted finalists. Two finalists are then selected who progress onto a workshop with the judges where GCF will prototype their designs..
Part of the workshop process is to review the prototype, cost structure, marketability, manufacturing and improvements.
The theme for last year’s competition was Storage, which saw a very high caliber of entrants.
In November 2008, GCF announced the winner of Creative Vibe 2008 – Chris Hardy with his design “San”.
The 2009 Creative Vibe focus is on Stools. GCF welcomes applications from Australia and New Zealand. The winner will receive an AUD$5000 cash prize and a manufactured version of their design. (Refer to Design Brief for more information regarding current competition)
The competition has proved to be very successful and demonstrates GCF’s commitment to support local design and innovation.
The company truly believes that the future growth of our industry can come from within and by supporting local design GCF is helping to make a difference.
