Concrete Culture in Sydney

BY

May 8th, 2008

From 29 May – July 5 2008, Concrete Culture will explore the fluid intersection between art and architecture.

In this dynamic group exhibition, Asian and Australian artists and architects Alfredo and Isabel Aquilizan, Richard Goodwin, Ou Ning, Ashok Sukumaran and Squatspace show works which probe the complex relationship between public and private spaces in rapidly evolving cities.

Concrete Culture, curated by Felicity Fenner, is the first in a series of three exhibitions. 2008 is for Sydney, while 2009 and 2010, exhibitions will be held at the Casula Powerhouse and the Zendai Museum of Contemporary Art, Shanghai.

This research is assisted by Australian Research Council Linkage Project funding and undertaken under the auspices of UNSW’s Centre for Contemporary Art + Politics, in collaboration with the Casula Powerhouse.

To be held at the Ivan Dougherty Gallery, COFA, Selwyn St Paddington.
