Artists are invited to be part of the Chairbiz ’Artists at Work’ live painting session at Brisbane Indesign 2012.
March 26th, 2012
Australian retailer Chairbiz is calling for emerging and established artists to submit entries for its ’Artists at Work’ live painting session.
10 artists will be selected to participate in a live painting session at the Chairbiz showroom. The event will take place during Brisbane Indesign 2012 from 12pm to 4pm on Saturday 26 May 2012.
Each participating artist will express with their own materials, their artistic interpretation of the Project theme ’Common Thread’.
Chairbiz have invited a special guest judge, Brisbane artist Nic Plowman – one of Australia’s most exciting young painters – to select an overall winner, who will take home a cash prize of $1500 for their work as well as have their painting displayed in the Chairbiz showroom.
All submissions will go into the running for a People’s Choice Award, with $500 up for grabs for the artwork deemed the people’s favourite. The People’s Choice winner will then be raffled off as a door prize on the night.
An open auction will be held at 5pm on the day, giving the public a chance to own their very own Common Thread artwork and piece of Brisbane Indesign history!
Participating artists will gain exposure to over 5,000 attendees from the architecture and design industry, and an international audience through post-event media coverage. The ’Artists at Work’ live drawing session provides an opportunity to connect directly with an audience of designers and gain valuable feedback from a renowned Brisbane-based artist in the judging process – as well as sharing their work with the public.
To be considered for the ’Artists at Work’ live painting session, submit a past example of your work by Friday 20 April via this online form.
Good luck!
