Tiki bar Honi Honi was dreamed up by drinks connoisseur Max Traverse and founder of London-based design firm Three Wise Monkeys, Tim Shepherd as a means to introduce the best rums and high quality cocktails to Hong Kong city.

The warm and intimate interior features a pure Tiki glamour aesthetic complete with traditional imagery, vibrant patterns, tropical materials, and lush greenery.

Says Traverse, “The venue was designed with the idea of being like a high end cocktail lounge. Each piece of design supports this idea of tiki glamour by making the venue a comfortable place for guests and making them feel like they have been transported to Polynesia.”

All the prints one sees were hand-picked and specially tailored for the bar, while the bespoke lights above the 10-metre-long bar were hand-made in Bali. The bar itself carries a broad and rare selection of spirits, with a focus on rum, as well as wines and champagne.

Every attention has been paid to the details. “We tried to recreate the tiki glamour concept as much as possible,” says Traverse, “from the lush foliage on the terrace and bamboo cladding, to the tiki hut-shaped bar and custom made tiki printed wallpaper. To keep things fresh, we commission artists from the region from time to time to make art work that enhances the space.”

Honi Honi features both an indoor and outdoor lounge area. It also has two VIP areas and a VIP bar where Traverse can welcome and entertain very important guests.
