Defined by design, Mira Moon, Hong Kong’s new boutique hotel for the fashion forward opens in Wan Chai.
October 1st, 2013
The design-savvy Mira Moon hotel as part of Miramar Group is born following the partnership with international designer, Marcel Wanders.
Dubbed the ‘lady Gaga of the design world’ by the New York Times, Wanders has injected an abundance of colour and texture into the hotel, which offers a bespoke interpretation of the mythical Chinese Moon Goddess and the Jade Rabbit.
The hotel’s colour scheme is a bold surge of lacquered whites and rich China reds, while ornately carved wood paneling and tiled mosaics peer through sheer curtains.
Floor-to-ceiling windows offer views over Hong Kong harbour and themed cocktails can be enjoyed at the design-led Super Giant Bar and Restaurant.
Mira Moon is the first story hotel within the Mira brand portfolio earning itself a status as part of Design Hotels™ – a group dedicated to marketing cutting-edge hospitality.
And just in time to mark the group’s 20th anniversary, Design Hotels™ have selected Mira Moon, Hong Kong to host their bi-centennial book party – an event that will look back on two decades of pioneering design.
The limited edition hardcover book has recently received the Red Dot Award 2013 for Communication Design, will be launched by Clauss Sendlinger, CEO and founder of Design Hotels. The event is set to take place Thursday, October 17, 2013.
