House of Hoppen: A Retrospective

Kelly Hoppen’s new book explores the designer’s 40-year career.

House of Hoppen: A Retrospective

Kelly Hoppen has almost innumerable projects under her belt, as well as a veritable library of books to her name; the most recent emerged late last year as yet another demonstration of just how far London-based interior designer’s empire extends.

House of Hoppen: A Retrospective is like a greatest hits compilation, giving readers an insight into Hoppen’s favourite projects, and sneak peeks into her beautiful new home, the Auction House, in London, as well as past homes she has inhabited.

The book looks back at Hoppen’s four-decade career, spanning her humble beginnings working on a family friend’s kitchen at age 16, right through to the yachts, jets and Shenzhen showhomes she has created in recent years. There’s a clear sense of how Hoppen’s style has evolved over the last 40 years. Hoppen also offers readers tips and insights into the practical, trademark tools she has developed in order to deliver the homes, hotels and furniture that have made her such a success story.

Hoppen’s new tome is packed with beautiful images that showcase the style she has come to be known for – her signature mix of luxe textures, neutral hues, and Eastern and Western elements. It also features a foreword by Sir Terence Conran. This is Hoppen’s seventh book.

House of Hoppen: A Retrospective by Kelly Hoppen MBE is published by Jacqui Small. It’s available here.
