Window Systems of the Future, Delivered Today

Presented by Alspec

BY

April 21st, 2021

Session Synopsis

Whenever the functional requirements of windows are discussed and prioritised, energy efficiency invariably appears near the top of the list. And rightly so –  windows play a huge role in heat transfer in both commercial and residential applications. Any attempt to maximise sustainability that doesn’t adequately consider windows is sure to fail.

However, such considerations should look beyond the glazing. While high-performance glazing products are an important part of the sustainability equation, they are not the whole story. Other components such as window frames are also important.

For example, broken aluminium frames are worth considering as alternatives to standard aluminium frames. Apart from reducing energy consumption, they also carry low levels of embodied energy. They reduce condensation, deliver a high ROI, and future proof real estate assets.
