Making moves in 2020 is Swedish flooring brand, Bolon with the launch of The Art of Performance and the opening of the their very first Australian showroom in Sydney’s east.
Breaking fresh ground in 2020 is Swedish design brand, Bolon. The company reigns in the new decade by launching The Art of Performance – a sustainable approach that rediscovers and reinterprets the beauty and function within its existing product lines. With their innovative spirit and boundless creativity, Bolon creates a new avenue for the flooring brand and brings us an inspiring story for flooring solutions.
For over 70 years, Bolon has always been ahead of its time and today, Annica and Marie Eklund continue to honour the company’s endless success. Officially launched at the Stockholm Furniture Fair 2020, the Art of Performance explores the endless possibilities afforded by its existing collections.
“We believe it’s important to explore and find new ways of seeing our existing flooring collections,” expresses Annica Eklund, the company’s Chief Creative Officer and third-generation member of the Eklund family. “It’s interesting to work with what we have, and we want to make our collections newer than ever, through the endless combinations we have created.”
At the heart and soul of the Art of Performance is a belief that design goes beyond what meets the eye.
The Art of Performance is built around the four core virtues that are essential and imbued across all of Bolon’s products: designability, sustainability, cleanability and durability. Only by fusing sustainable methods, exceptional function and remarkable beauty; is when products can truly succeed and achieve creativity’s full potential.
In 2020, Bolon proves that woven flooring transcends further than just an everyday product and into a unique piece of art.
“For us, great design is design that lasts,” explains Annica. “You can only achieve that when performance and aesthetics are equally important, when effortless cleanability and maintenance come naturally, and when honest sustainability stands above it all.”
Following the success from The Art of Performance, Bolon brings the brand’s creative flooring combinations to Australian shores. Last month, architects and designers came together and celebrated the much anticipated opening of Bolon’s first Australian showroom.
