Edition 1 Winners in the Staron® Design Awards 2011 have just been announced, with judges impressed by the level of skill and innovation on display.
July 25th, 2011
Staron® Solid Surfaces’ Staron® Design Awards 2011 attracted a host of creative entries, and the judging panel – Indesign’s Mandi Keighran, Amanda Stanaway of Woods Bagot and Stephen Varady of Kann Finch Group – has chosen the winners of Edition 1 of the competition.
Peter Carman of Dakota Design and Wave Surfaces have taken out the Commercial category for their Wave Surfaces showroom in Perth (pictured above).
Staron® Solid Surfaces are used for the benchtops, sinks, service areas, clad to cabinetry and even used to create unique sculptures, resulting in a design that really pushes boundaries.
Darren James of Interiors by Darren James is the winner of the Residential category. Darren used Staron® Solid Surfaces to create a standout kitchen that acts as a backdrop to an open-plan living space, with an island bench, kitchen benchtop and breakfast bar that show the possibilities of the material.

The Concept Category has been won by Wilma van Boxtel of Deseos Design for her seamless long dining table. The surface continues from the table top to the table legs for an unbroken, curved form.

Edition 2 of the Staron® Design Awards are now open for entries – visit the website for more information on how to enter.
