Looking for the ultimate in personal space? Hochu Rayu’s unique Helmfon helmet is a private retreat from office distraction and noise.
As striking visually as it is practical for privacy, the Helmfon is a tool created to give the distraction prone office worker full control over their external commotion, and work in total concentration.
The innovative design comes from Ukrainian design company Hochu Rayu (a phrase meaning I Want Heaven), who were driven by the original privacy and functionality of traditional phone booths. Currently in the prototype stage, the Helmfon has been designed to offer a practical yet fun, and frankly gloriously silly, way to minimize direction in the modern open plan office.
The helmet itself is made from materials known for noise reduction; a glass fibre casing on the outside, covered in nitro paint, houses a membrane cloth with foamed polyethylene inside. More than simply an oversized helmet though, the Helmfon is equipped with a high tech electronics, a microphone, speakers, accumulator, magnifier and smartphone integration.
Privacy and sound cancelling bonuses aside, the helmet is set to be able to play videos, organize Skype conferences, answer and make calls and more.
Whilst undeniably striking, for some, the Helmfon will be a gift from the gods – distraction free working has never been this eye catching.
