The pioneering collection by Jasper Morrison for Rado goes Automatic.
April 1st, 2010
Leading on from the success of the r5.5 collection, luxury watch manufacturer Rado is now unveiling the first extension of the award-winning line – the r5.5 Automatic.
A natural development for the designer collection, this new addition to the range marks the continued success of the collaboration between Rado and the British industrial designer Jasper Morrison.
Sharing the same passion, philosophy and enthusiasm for the use of high-tech ceramics as Rado, Morrison effortlessly demonstrates his design ingenuity in the new timepiece.
Aesthetically pleasing with a seamless and exquisite fusion of the case and bracelet, the links are gradually reduced so the watch appears as one, perfectly hugging the wrist.
Modern and highly impactful, the eye is drawn towards the distinctive square silhouette of the dial, of which the ‘radius’ lends its name to the collection.
The white luminous indexes and three hands provide a dramatic contrast to the deep black matt of the dial, covered by sapphire crystal.
The date lies at 3 o’clock, with an automatic movement, which can be seen through the transparent sapphire crystal case back.
