A former workers cottage in Brisbane’s Red Hill provides an inspiring workplace for the Blok team.
September 10th, 2010
Having been on the hunt for sometime, Blok Furniture have finally found the perfect studio to house their head office, which handles product orders and bespoke projects for commercial specifiers nationwide.
Blok were also on the look-out for a light-filled space to showcase select furniture from their range, an area to host informal meetings and small client gatherings, and a venue large enough to cater for their sporadic product launch events.
The list of requirements seemed daunting, until a chance drive-by one day in July provided the solution.
A century-old workers cottage in Brisbane’s city fringe suburb of Red Hill was the answer to Blok’s dreams.
Designed by architect Richard Kirk, the 100 sqm contemporary extension looks out over the attractive Paddington streetscape, revealed from the 6m tall steel bi-fold doors when opened.
The main show floor and deck is the ideal place to display Blok’s selection of indoor and outdoor products, while the mezzanine office level provides privacy and easy access to street level.
The team at Blok looks forward to welcoming you to their new home.
Blok’s studio can be found at Unit 2, 32 Waterworks Road, Red Hill, Brisbane.
