As part of significant company growth and a burgeoning range, Interstudio Australia has just opened their second Australian showroom in Melbourne’s design precinct, Flinders Lane.
July 4th, 2008
In 2002, furniture company, Interstudio, opened their first Australian showroom in Surry Hills, Sydney. Based on the philosophy of Interstudio Copenhagen, the business has branched out further this year, aiming to provide an additional service to design-savvy Melbournians.
With the aim of providing a user-friendly design space in the centre of Melbourne’s design hub – the New York loft-style showroom features high white ceilings and walls, tall windows and a blank canvas floor in charcoal concrete.
Stunningly bare, the layout allows the product to stand out without restriction with the furniture taking the role of hero rather than the showroom itself. An atrium area to display alfresco items adds that little bit extra.
Occupying the existing under-utilised space of Basile and Evans, the space underwent major renovation just four years ago, emerging with a new face this August.
As per the Sydney showroom, the new Melbourne space invites a sensation of relief from other dull commercial showrooms, in that inviting, homely, Interstudio feel.
Always focusing on fresh, contemporary design and promoting emerging Scandinavian and local Australian designers, Interstudio represent the finest designers and manufacturers, with an extensive range of products for both residential and corporate applications. Their portfolio is constantly updated with innovative new lines and materials, and they also provide customised furniture and joinery solutions.
New collections and ranges, include Basile and Evans, Dnmark, Paustian, Globe, zero 4, with designs by Busk +Hertzog. Other designs by Busk + Hertzog, manufactured by Magnus Olesen and Softline of Denmark and Woodmark. Many of the products available at the new showroom are new releases, with several never previously exposed to the Melbourne Market.
The showroom also features Interstudio’s collection of rugs, artworks and lighting, displayed in a format to rival any veteran showroom in this bustling design centre.
The Interstudio showroom is officially being unveiled at Saturday in Design this August- a perfect opportunity to meet the owners and see the product in this fantastic new space.
