Light Culture has announced an exclusive partnership with German design and lighting brand, NEXT.
February 1st, 2016
At NEXT’s first Light+Building trade fair in 2000, three of their products won the “Form 2000-award” from the German Crafts Association. Soon after, the ‘Liquid Light’ luminaire received the award “Design for Europe 2000″ at the Interieur trade fair in Belgium.
In the following years Thomas Schulte, the owner and managing director of NEXT, expanded the collection in cooperation with the design studio Büro für Form. He managed to draw a connection from products that work with a tongue in cheek (like FlipFlap, for example) to luminaires that convince with their functionality.
“Sophisticated but not elitist”. This is how Schulte sees the collection. “Our collection is directed by the idea of people feeling comfortable with our lighting. I want NEXT to offer contemporary design and to create a suitable atmosphere whether in private homes or in architectural projects.”
The manifold application of NEXT luminaries prove him right. Whether it’s the opera “Faust” at Staatstheater Wiesbaden or Jamie Oliver’s restaurant in Cornwall – the NEXT brand shines.
