OroNero is the new home of high-end dining in Baku, Azerbaijan, bringing together Italian design, fashion, style and gastronomy.
December 29th, 2015
Designed by London’s Blue Sky Hospitality, OroNero takes its energy from the essences of Italy’s luxury industries: the crafts and tradition of couture fashion, jewelry, artisan furniture, gastronomy and wines come together with a Azerbaijani twist. Imagined with high a sense of cinematic glamour and storytelling, OroNero exemplifies the approach that Blue Sky Hospitality is known for.
The OroNero lounge is styled after the high fashion of a private jet, complete with burnished gold buffalo leather panels, pink gold snake upholstery, black gold leather seats and intricate fretwork panels in ebonized timber. The opulence continues with the inclusion of an intimate prosecco bar, grappa library and salumi kitchen.
The actual restaurant of OroNero is by way of a walk-in wine cellar and an elegant private dining room, which connects with the city and the Caspian Sea through floor-to-ceiling windows.
Timber flooring throughout features an amber hue with black veins and a bespoke wool carpet that is both warming and stands as a piece of conceptual art evoking splashes of coffee, Prosecco, olive oil and fine Balsamico.
Chebaane is known to include conceptual art installations in his projects, and OroNero is no different, featuring the Golden Beluga, a sturgeon sculpture made of carbon fibre, gold plated steel and Titanium F1 car parts, and the EVOO – Extra Volatile Organic Object – an installation of drop-shaped glass bottles, filled with extra virgin oil and crude oil.
