Melbourne based Jackson Clements Burrows has been named a Shaw Contract Group “Design Is…” award winner.
October 22nd, 2015
The international design award was awarded to Jackson Clements Burrows for the firm’s Monash International Bachelor of Business City Campus project, and joins JCB with five other global winners and one people’s choice winner. Jackson Clements Burrows’ entry claimed victory with their entry in the Education category.
“The awards honour architecture and design firms from around the globe that are changing the idea of what design is and in the Education category the Monash International Bachelor of Business City Campus set the benchmark,” Shaw Contract Group Australia Managing Director Bill McGee said. “Competing against 48 market winners selected from 477 entries from 30 countries, this is the second year in a row in the ten years the Design Is… Awards program has been running that an Australian project has won a global award. “
Jackson Clements Burrows interior architect, Natalie Boston said the win is a testament to the hard work and collaboration that went into a successful project outcome.
“As a practice it’s always exciting to be recognised for our work, in particular on a global scale,” Natalie said.
“The award reminds us that the final outcome is always dependant on a strong collaboration between ourselves and our industry partners and suppliers. Through this relationship we all achieved an internationally recognised and successful project, of which we can all be proud of,” she said.
The win sees Jackson Clements Burrow sending two team members to NeoCon, the largest commercial interiors show in North America, taking place in Chicago in 2016.
Design Is… winners are also promoted through marketing materials, media promotion and an advertisement campaign in leading architecture and design publications.
“The judges hailed Jackson Clements Burrows’ entry as truly successful. “ said Bill McGee “They particularly loved the clever use of colour through the flooring combined with the neutral furniture and the sophistication of the wood niche boxes.”
