Cult has launched the 2014 Design Journey competition and are looking for innovative proposals.
October 22nd, 2014
Supporting Australasian designers and artisans is a key note of Cult’s agenda. Celebrating 10 years since its launch, Design Journey offers designers the opportunity to create a new product or range that will compliment Cult’s existing collection.
This year the brief asks designers to design an accessory or lighting range / product to complement the current Cult furniture collection.
“When it comes to Australian Design, Cult are committed to understanding what the industry needs. I am a big believer in investing in our industry as a way of moving forward – if we do not foster this growth then everything will remain the same. It is important to me that the designers of tomorrow feel supported and that is what our Design Journey competition is all about.”, says Cult’s Managing Director Richard Munao.
The winner will have the unique opportunity to travel to Copenhagen to meet with Rolf Hay, founder of Hay; and Christian Rasmussen, Head of Design for Republic of Fritz Hansen. The winning entrant will have their product prototyped, manufactured and marketed under license by Cult.
