According to NASA, air quality indoors is worse than outdoors, with indoor plastic furniture to blame. So comes ’Bel-Air’, a plant that filters air indoors.

The air quality indoors is worse than outdoors, according to researchers from NASA. Plastic used for our daily furniture production emits pollutants (benzene, formaldehyde, and trichloroethylene) whose levels are maximal during warm and humid periods.
Crucial for the health of the NASA’s astronauts, the American agency, together with french designer Mathieu Lehanneur of Dyson (pictured), has invented and produced ’Bel-Air’ – an air purifying system using plants as filters.
’Bel-Air’ is a mini mobile greenhouse that continuously inhales the space-polluted air that goes through tree natural filters: the plant leaves, its roots, and a humid bath before rejecting it purified.
One in the mass of new cutting-edge, revolutionary ’save the planet’ inventions and gadgets that are starting to hit the production line.
