The FlexiFlange leak control flange is set to revolutionise the task of installing drainage systems alongside vertical surfaces like walls and floor junctions.
November 10th, 2025
Traditionally, the installation of drainage systems alongside walls has been problematic. In fact when presented with such design choices – along with the established need to meet waterproofing requirements – many installers have abandoned them altogether and moved the drain in question to a less challenging position.
A game-changing innovation
Now, thanks to the release of the FlexiFlange leak control flange, this is no longer the case.
Unlike standard flanges, which are rigid, and offer no compromise, FlexiFlange challenges constraint. Robust and leak-proof, yet also extremely flexible, it is able to bend up vertical surface, without any loss to functionality or structural integrity.
Importantly, this allows tilers, plumbers, and builders to install the Flexiflange right up alongside these surfaces, safe in the knowledge that they are achieving the required minimum 50mm membrane adhesion area.

An innovation that is nothing short of game-changing, this delivers these waterproofing professionals the flexibility they need to position drainage systems in tight, previously inaccessible spaces, while meeting all relevant regulatory requirements of the National Construction Code (NCC).
The Flexiflange leak control flange is crafted from Vinyl Council certified, Best Environmental Practice PVC, a ‘deemed to satisfy’ compliant material under AS 3740, AS 3500.2 & AS 4654.1. Watermark certified, it is tested as per AS 4858 and therefore suitable for waterproofing applications.
Features & benefits
Thanks to its large diameter, the Flexiflange leak control flange accommodates variability in substrate contours and penetrations and is very versatile. Featuring a marked cuttable area that can be trimmed down according to specific requirements, its ultra-thin profile also simplifies the installation process.
Meanwhile, a removable flood test plug and water level gauge, which are built into the flange, simplify compliance checks; the connection between the riser and flange protects the waterproofing membrane from tearing or stress; and the inclusion of a slip joint riser allows for natural building movement.

The Flexiflange features a Flexible Riser Body with a compression push-fit design for easy connection to DN100 pipe. This allows weep from the underside, while simultaneously preventing backflow.
Then, as a final feature, the Flexiflange leak control flange includes dry film gauges of 1mm and 2mm, which function as easy guides to ensure membrane application of the correct thickness. Similarly, the inclusion of engraved markings allows for easy outlet centre measurement; and an integrated water level gauge simplifies the task of flood testing.
Fully patented and the first deemed-to-satisfy compliant product of its kind available in Australia, the Flexiflange leak control flange is available now from Stormtech. An established presence in the industry – and the organisation credited with the invention of the linear drainage system – Stormtech is delighted to add the game changing product to its list of achievements.

London-based design duo Raw Edges have joined forces with Established & Sons and Tongue & Groove to introduce Wall to Wall – a hand-stained, “living collection” that transforms parquet flooring into a canvas of colour, pattern, and possibility.
For Aidan Mawhinney, the secret ingredient to Living Edge’s success “comes down to people, product and place.” As the brand celebrates a significant 25-year milestone, it’s that commitment to authentic, sustainable design – and the people behind it all – that continues to anchor its legacy.
A manufacturer with a string of industry firsts, including the invention of linear drainage to its name, Stormtech also has a strong record of environmental commitment.
Removing the need for a conventional water stop at the shower entry, the Stormtech 120SCS shower screen support drain is ideal for installation in these increasingly popular residential spaces.
