Stormtech’s 100Tii20MTL Tile Insert Drains have been installed throughout the main bathrooms and the ensuites of a project that is set to change the face of North Sydney.

Now complete and almost ready to welcome its first residents, Aura by Aqualand delivers everything one would expect of a luxury residential complex.
Located centrally on North Sydney’s Walker Street – with unobstructed views to the city, the Opera House, and the familiar, curving shoreline of Sydney Harbour – the facility includes no less than 386 considered, spacious apartments.
Conceived with a future of flexible employment patterns and realigned work-life boundaries in mind, these residences are complemented by a 5-star hotel style concierge service, a gym, pool, activity rooms, and extensive outdoor space in which to relax or socialise.
Beyond meeting expectations, however, Aura also does a whole lot more. Thanks to the efforts of it architects (Woods Baggot) and interior architects (Richards Stanisich), it has effectively changed the look of North Sydney.

Sympathetic to their location and featuring a gentle undulating form that recalls not just the aforementioned harbour foreshore but also the surrounding hills and slopes, the 28-level glass towers that constitute the development sit comfortably within their surroundings.
In addition, thanks to its well-considered inclusion of public space; of a wine bar, LA-inspired bistro, Japanese restaurant, Aura is set to bolster North Sydney’s sense of community, and in so doing, to redefine the notion of urban living.
Stormtech’s 100Tii20MTL tile insert drains
In terms of specification, the team at Richards Stanisich resolved to incorporate functional elements in as inconspicuous a way as possible.
Throughout all ensuites and main bathrooms, for example, they chose to install 100Tii20MTL tile insert drains by Stormtech, an organisation with over 30 years of experience in the field of architectural drainage and the inventor of the linear drain.
Featuring an elongated rectilinear design for egress that captures the flow of water towards a single exit port, these drains rank among the most efficient available.

Made from 1.5mm thick 316 Grade Stainless Steel and certified according to the requirements of both Greentag and Watermark, 100Tii20MTL tile insert drains feature a channel depth of 23mm and channel width 106mm.
Fully functional and ready for use, they eliminate the need for shower hobs or curbs, and require only a single slope and a relatively level floor. Visually unobtrusive, yet sleek and stylish, they align nicely with the architects’ stated ambition of maintaining a focus on materiality.
Along with the various other fittings at this once in a generation development, they are helping redefine not just a neighbourhood but the way we approach urban living in this part of the world.

The newest brand to emerge from Cosentino’s creative crucible is Ēclos, a next-generation mineral surface that embodies the organic beauty and tactility of marble in a precision-mineral surface or material.
Aeron Chair’s new shades, Nightfall and Jasper, arrive with a sense of quiet cohesion – no bells and whistles, no loud technicolour; just two timeless, perfectly versatile near-neutrals. But the new hues aren’t just about colour – and their significance is much more profound than their surface-level subtlety might suggest.
