Lamitak’s Portfolio 2026/27 Collection made its debut in Bangkok with colour, energy and a crowd that celebrated design in full swing.
October 20th, 2025
In September, Bangkok played host to the launch of Lamitak’s Portfolio 2026/27 collection, an event that swapped the formality of a typical unveiling for a full-blown celebration. We were lucky enough to be invited, joining a contingent of designers to witness the debut first-hand. Held at EM Tower, Emsphere, the night drew a massive design crowd and pulsed with bold displays, interactive activities and music — creating a party atmosphere that marked one of the brand’s most memorable launches yet. It also underscored a milestone: 18 years of Lamitak in the Thai market.

The new Lamitak Portfolio 2026/27 is a showcase of diversity and fresh ideas. Featuring more than 500 designs, the collection takes its cues from wood, stone, mountains and everyday life, grounded in the brand’s ethos of ‘Good Product.’

One of the highlights of the evening was the premiere of Lamitak’s Thematic Video, followed by a presentation from Jansen Tan, Director of Product & Brand, who shared insights into the inspiration and design journey. “Great design begins with a good product. This collection merges modern urban spirit with the beauty of nature, inspired by road trips and explorations across the world. It is a journey of discovery that transforms into surfaces that feel both familiar and refreshingly new,” he explained.

In Bangkok, the diversity of the collection came alive through an immersive exhibition. Massive hanging panels showcased the new laminates alongside photographs of their inspirations from around the world, giving context to each design story. The exhibition narrative also underscored Lamitak’s respect for sustainability, with all materials designed to be recyclable.

Beyond the displays, interactivity took centre stage: at the Lamitak Scanner, we placed samples on a marked spot and watched product details flash up on screen — a simple yet surprisingly addictive way to engage with the collection. Nearby, guests tried their luck at the Good Gift vending machine, while artists at the Good Sketch corner illustrated portraits directly onto laminate samples. It was refreshing to see a brand embrace playful, interactive formats that turned product exploration into part of the party.

The evening wasn’t just about laminates. With DJs setting a high-energy soundtrack, the night became a community moment where designers from Thailand, Singapore and Indonesia mingled and celebrated design together.

It was clear Lamitak had pulled off more than just a collection launch. It created an experience that captured what design, at its best, is about: connection between people, places, and the materials that shape our spaces.
