Inspired by nature, Seating Stones offer a myriad possibilities for placement, colour, texture, arrangement, and communication.
March 7th, 2013
These sculptural seats that Ben van Berkel designed for Walter Knoll made their debut in January at IMM Cologne 2013.
Seating Stones are designed as individual objects and can be used independently. In addition, they can be placed side by side as a family of forms in a variety of configurations. They can be positioned together, either to accommodate privacy or to invite communication.
Users intuitively follow the possibilities on offer: sitting or lounging around, relaxing or concentrating, on their own or in company. The seats are ideal for lobbies, in institutions or public spaces.
Seating Stones can be upholstered in a wide variety of fabrics and colours, and fabric types and colours can also be mixed to create different appearances and textures.
Walter Knoll is carried in Singapore at Proof Living.
