Designed by Michel Ducaroy in 1973, Togo ranks today as one of the best sellers in Ligne Roset’s portfolio.
March 12th, 2013
When Ligne Roset’s Togo was first presented at the Salon des Arts ménagers in Palais de la Défense, Paris in 1973, its crumpled appearance and shar-pei wrinkles raised more than a few eyebrows, though the fair organisers were sufficiently inspired to present its designer, Michel Ducaroy, the René – Gabriel prize – an award given out to ’innovative and democratic furniture’; that is, pieces that offered a good price – to – quality ratio.
Since then, Togo has gained a cult following and is today one of Ligne Roset’s best-sellers, having sold more than 1.28 million pieces to date, in 72 countries.
Different models and versions of Togo have been presented over the years, and this year, to mark its 40th anniversary, Ligne Roset has launched a new, striking houndstooth upholstery pattern in Alcantara® material (top image).
To celebrate Togo’s 40th year, customers in Singapore will enjoy a special 40% offer on all Togo elements from April to end June 2013.
