Not just a pendant light fitting, Algorithm is a lighting design kit that allows the designer to decide the final form based on the architectural space.

A lighting product that leaves the final design to the imagination of the designer – that’s Algorithm. Created by Milan-based designer Toan Nguyen for Vibia, Algorithm is a kit of parts that allows designers to assemble bespoke light fittings to fit the architecture or installation space.
Composed of a series of blown glass light globes, Algorithm features a striated concentric surface pattern that enhances the LED light inside, and is suspended at different heights from a floating tubular steel structure anchored to the ceiling.
An incredibly versatile lighting product that can adapt perfectly to any space, Algorithm’s ‘unfinished’ form enables the designer to make a few inspired choices and create something truly unique.
Much more than just a simple pendant light fitting or a support mechanism, Algorithm brings together beauty and geometry, creativity and functionality, inspiration and adaptability to help the designer achieve the desired configuration for the project.
From the striated blown glass diffusers that create a constantly changing translucent lighting effect and the 3.5W LED lights that can be dimmed, to the suspension cables, hanging rods and tubular steel lattice structure supporting the fitting, all the elements of the Algorithm toolkit are beautifully resolved.
Algorithm won the overall first prize at the first edition of the Archiproducts Design Awards in 2016.
