Designed for HAY and available through Cult, the Palissade Sun Lounge is the new outdoor seating solution in the already popular Palissade collection.
December 9th, 2020
The Palissade collection of outdoor furniture has already proven to be a design favourite. As we move into Summer months and more and more time is being spent outdoors, it’s fitting the collection is receiving a new star with the Sun Lounge.
Designed by French brothers Ronan and Erwan Bouroullec for HAY, the Palissade collection has been developed to fit a wide number of differing environments; from cafés and restaurants, to home gardens, terraces and apartment balconies.
The Sun Lounge follows the design language established with the existing range – neat formal lines, and clean, minimalist form. An expression of contrasts, the Sun Lounge is strong without being bulky, and elegant without being fragile.
The designers, Ronan and Erwan Bouroullec, have been working together since 1998. Ronan is a graduate of the École supérieure des Arts décoratifs in Paris and Erwan attended the École nationale supérieure des Arts in Cergy before starting their own studio. Together Ronan & Erwan Bouroullec have transformed the design industry and offered new perspectives of materiality and purpose.
This focus on new views on materiality and purpose can be seen in the Palissade collection. From the stools and benches in the range, to chairs and tables, lounge chairs and sofas, and now the Sun Lounge, the distinctly modern collection is an expression of the brothers’ design philosophy and approach to materials.
The Sun Lounge joins the Palissade collection at just the right time. As we move outside in the warmer months, many projects – residential, hospitality, and commercial alike – can benefit from the charm of its symmetrical geometry, and sleek form.
The new lounge offering as well as the entire Palissade collection is available through Cult, and has been designed with prolonged use and longevity in mind – becoming more beautiful as it ages through the years.
