This year, seven brands took over The Space as part of Hong Kong Indesign’s curated space.
November 26th, 2015
On 19 and 20 November, seven major brands strutted their stuff at The Space on Hollywood Road, as part of Hong Kong Indesign’s special curated space. The boutique design event was all about connecting designers and architects with brands in an intimate, casual setting – something The Space was perfect for.
The exhibitors were Woven Image, IROCO Design, My French Room, Ober Group, Seventhirty AM, Scandinavian Business Seating and Vitra – some of whom launched exciting new products at the event.
Alongside the exhibitors, The Space played host to two Design Conversations: the WorkLife: Wellness in the Workplace discussion on 19 November and the BizLife: Authentic Design – What Future? discussion on 20 November.

The Space was also the destination for a party hosted by Vitra, Woven Image and Scandinavian Business Seating on the evening of 19 November. The evening was a great success, with the design community coming together to network in a fun, relaxed environment, enjoying canapés, boutique Japanese beer and funky tunes.
Australian textile and interior finishes company Woven Image showcased its groundbreaking new room divider, Scale, at the entrance to The Space. Scale, which climbed the walls and the ceilings on the ground floor of the venue, is the result of an exciting collaboration with British design wunderkind Benjamin Hubert.

IROCO Design, which offers designer pieces for rent and for sale, also introduced a unique solution to the division of space, in the form of softwall + softblock. Created by MOLO Design, the flexible, modular partition was on show at Hong Kong Indesign, with its expansion, contraction and shaping qualities on full display.

Also exhibiting partitions and panels was Ober Group, which debuted its Purepaper range in Asia at Hong Kong Indesign. The brand also showcased beautiful new designs by Patrick Norguet for the Metal and Color decorative laminate collections.

Making a statement as part of Vitra’s exhibit were iconic items and contemporary classics, all in bold colours that popped on the stand. Visitors experienced the Alcove sofa, alongside Belville chairs, Eames elephants, and Ronan and Erwan Bouroullec’s stylish Slow chair.

Scandinavian Business Seating exhibited the RBM Noor chairs for everything from canteens to conference rooms. The brand was also the sponsor of the WorkLife Design Conversation, with panelists sitting on the new, super-comfortable HÅG Capisco chairs.

On Seventhirty AM’s stand, the Vertigo fiberglass lamp by Constance Guisset was a scene-stealer thanks to its dramatic, flowing form. The Hong Kong company also showed several of the other up-and-coming brands it represents from Europe, Australia, New Zealand and beyond, with knit poufs from Casalis among the items on display.

Meanwhile the five brands behind My French Room demonstrated the chic, sophisticated art of French living at The Space. Catry carpets, Jules Pansu cushions, Herbeau fittings, ceramic tiles from Winckelmans and cabinet-ware from Roches Group.

With such a variety of products on offer, original ideas and the high standards in design that each of the exhibitors demonstrated, it’s no wonder The Space drew crowds on both days of Hong Kong Indesign. We look forward to seeing you next time around….
