Ingrid Fuary-Wagner checks out a Chadstone fit-out that is a far cry from conventional shopping centre cafes.

Capital Kitchen is hardly what one might expect from a shopping centre eatery.
But with an interior designed by Mim Design, uniformity would hardly be expected.
Capital Kitchen is a combination of a café, bar and food-based homewares store in Chadstone Shopping centre.
The clean and modern interior blends a minimal look with a rustic wooden country kitchen feel, a stark contrast from the monotony of shopping centre food outlets.
Clients can choose from scattered café seating against the exposed brick backdrop, the cosy allure of the couches or the metal stools surrounding the long communal table.
The combination of textural brick walls, timber floors and joinery and splashes of Carrara marble give this new fit out a sleek contemporary feel.
