The worlds of architecture and fashion collided at the Myer Spring Summer11 Collection.
August 10th, 2010
Anyone who attended the latest fashion show for Myer’s Spring Summer Collection would have witnessed a surprising scene as a troop of models made their entrance onto the runway through an illuminated skeletal structure.
A creative collaboration between Chris Bosse of LAVA and Amanda Henderson of Gloss Creative, the inspired set design echoed the sartorial summer season with this architectural nod to seashells.
The giant seashell set was created from a sand-coloured plywood installation 18 metres long and 5 metres high, from which Myer’s Jennifer Hawkins made a jaw-dropping exit along with her scantily clad contingent.
The set was digitally designed and CNC cut, consisting of 2000 parts pieced together like a puzzle and put together at Eveleigh’s Carriageworks.
