Hames Sharley are inspired by nature and the Cycle of Life in their redesign of Adelaide’s Public Trustee Workplace.
December 2nd, 2010
When Hames Sharley set out to provide a new fitout for the Public Trustee workplace at 211 Victoria Square, they needed to create an environment fit for a complex and diverse organisation.
The Public Trustee workplace sprawls over four storeys and two front-of-house tenancies, covering 3745 square metres of floor space.
The goal for the new fitout was a strong street presence to attract new clientele, and an attractive and comfortable environment for existing clients and staff that represented the core values of the government business.
Hames Sharley took the Cycle of Life as their inspiration and created a design that reflects the complex structures and balance of nature.
The interior has a neutral colour palette of beige, taupe and brown as its base, accentuated by colours and abstract graphics that represent the four seasons. Each office level has an allocated season, while the ground floor ties together all four.
The space is bright and airy and depends on natural light and views. Natural materials have been used as much as possible, including light oak timber floors and matching timber furniture.
The fitout was recently awarded the People’s Choice Award at the Design Institute of Australia South Australia Chapter Awards. Hames Sharley have achieved a gorgeous multi-functional space to accommodate and grow with the needs of the Public Trustee.
