The confluence of master craftsmanship and innovative Japanese design. Apato brings the finest furniture brands in Japan to Australia.
September 9th, 2014
Apato’s exclusive collection features fine pieces that have been designed by an exciting mix of high profile designers and emerging young talents, carefully manufactured using both age-old techniques and modern technology to ensure quality and ergonomic comfort.
The Japanese are known for several things: bold creativity, technological advancements, unparalleled quality and keen attention to detail. Our impressive line-up of products, carefully selected from some of the country’s most highly regarded furniture brands, ticks all the boxes.
“Most of the brands that we are introducing are still relatively unknown outside of Japan as the domestic market has always been self sustaining. Many however are now starting to look overseas due to a number of reasons – like Japan’s ageing population, and a younger and more adventurous generation of designers and owners helming these 3rd to 4th generation family businesses.”
Apato’s stable of brands range from the established (Nissin Mokkou, Miyazaki Chair Factory) to the new and innovative like Ishinomaki Lab, which started off as a community workshop after the 2011 tsunami but have since evolved into a manufacturer of very unique designs, contributed by established designers both in Japan and abroad.
Furniture should stand out, transform a room and elevate the design of a space, but it also needs to serve a functional, practical purpose. In bringing you pieces that encapsulate both aspects, Apato is proud to introduce you to the innovative world of Japanese furniture design, one masterfully crafted piece at a time.
Apato’s products are available to both contract and retail customers.
