Karim Rashid is no ordinary designer. A leading figure in product, interior, fashion, furniture, art and lighting design, Rashid is what you could call a man for all seasons.
His work has been celebrated with a plethora of awards for his interior designs and products, with a diverse range of work from door handles to glasses to the product packaging of Issey Miyake Summer Fragrance in 2002.
His work is also in the permanent collections of 14 museums worldwide including the Garbino trash can for Umbra in New York’s MoMA.
Making his democratic design sensibility for the masses even more accessible, Rashid has just published his guide to living "Design Your Self’ from Regan Books.
On top of this, Rashid’s Poly Chair (available from Chairbiz.com in Australia and pictured above) for Bonaldo has been honoured in the Best Design 2007 selection by Gioia Casa.
