2011’s top designs were awarded at the Australian International Design Awards on Friday 22 July.

From a list of 232 remarkable Australian and internationally-designed products, 47 have been awarded a Design Award(TM) in recognition of their excellence in design and innovation.
“Award winners are the result of unwavering dedication to good design and commitment to a professional design process,” said Brandon Gien, Managing Director of Good Design Australia, the association presenting the awards.
“Innovation, creativity and attention to detail are clearly at the heart of each project.”
Denmark-based Kompan took out the top prize, 2011 Design Award of the Year, for their ICON interactive outdoor playground promoting health and sociability in children.
The highest scoring products in each award category received a special accolade this year, named Design Award: Best in Category.
