Designed by Migliore+Servetto Architects for the 53rd Salone Internazionale del Mobile in Italy, the Flying Boxes stand will now be standing to receive the Compasso d’Oro 2016.

Flying Boxes
was selected for the ADI Design Index 2015 and the accolades may continue were the stand to win the Compoasso d’Oro. Signs of both lightness and dynamism characterize the Flying Boxes exhibition concept – ten groups of cubes open upwards in varying volumes like Russian nesting dolls.

These Flying Boxes shapes are outlined with thin wireframe models that reveal the products of the collections, serving
as unique artwork installations in galleries and public spaces. A double filter of curtains, lights and dynamic videos, which creates an illusionary deep backdrop, then surrounds the models.

The ADI Design Index 2015 is a collection of over 100 Italian items produced in the last year in many sectors, from furniture to car, from building components to books. The collection is a showcase of the finest in modern Italian design. The Compasso d’Oro, or Golden Compass, is a well known Italian design award founded in 1954, and is one of the most recognized awards in the design field.
