Favourite designer: Madeline Vionnet for her technical and stylistic innovations in tailoring and dressing which still look modern today. Helen Britton for her eclectic yet harmonious jewellery and her uncompromising discipline. Writer Brian Castro for his beautifully designed words.

Favourite design destination: Potentially controversial but I am going to say the internet. Or a stunning magazine. Both give you access to diverse design no matter who you are, where you are – I like design that you can fit into your pocket.

Inspiration: Books, things, people, love, champagne.

Work in progress: Putting thoughts into words – always a work in progress.

Other areas of interest: Anything intriguing, compelling, beautiful.
