Architects spanning five continents and three generations will speak at the Australian Institute of Architects’ 2011 National Architecture Conference, for which the theme will be ’Natural Artifice’.
Pritzker Prize winner Fumihiko Maki of Tokyo’s Maki and Associates will headline the annual event. Maki’s prolific work includes the World Trade Centre Tower 4 and the Kaze-no-Oka crematorium.
Joining Maki on the speaker’s podium will be Finnish architect and author Juhani Pallasmaa of Juhani Pallasmaa Architects, Spanish architect Luis Mansilla of Mansilla+Tuñon Arquitectos, French architect François Roche of R&Sie(n), Colombian architects Luis Callejas and Sebastian Mejia, US architect Lisa Iwamoto of Iwamoto Scott, and Portuguese architect Manuel Aires Mateus of Aires Mateus & Associates.
Prominent Australian architects and thought leaders will also join this stellar line-up at the Melbourne Convention Centre from 14-16 April 2011.
