The Rubellite Project from Passion Victims brought together some of Melbourne’s top designers and artists to create an event fusing design, gastronomy and one excellent cause.
August 5th, 2011
Coinciding with the official launch of Rue de Fleurus on Wednesday 27 July, A Winter’s Feast combined gastronomy, wine, music and design in an event to raise money and awareness for the Hunger Cause and the 1 Billion Hungry Project.
The work of 18 creatives was showcased in various ways – worn by models, used in the décor, or presented to the table on platters.
All pieces were available for sale, with proceeds going to the charity Feed Melbourne.
The event was presented as a performance, with gastronomic theatre from Comida Bebe designed to make guests reflect on the cause.
Public response was overwhelmingly positives, demonstrating the value of initiatives like these that harness the power of design for a greater cause.
