Designed by renowned Spanish architect Jose Maria Tomas Llavador, the building features the largest solar panel installation in Europe over an industrial roof!

The building really needs to be seen to believed. The purpose-built facility incorporates a logistics centre, sports facilities, mediterranean garden and nursery and is surrounded by the mountains of Castalla.

The impressive curved aluminium and glass façade of the building was designed to allow natural light. Every element of the built environment was designed with sustainability in mind – rainwater and snow are collected and used to meet the site’s water needs; sunlight is capitalised on for light and thermal regulation.

The building generates its own clean energy and has the capability to not only power itself, but also a small town. More than just an industrial complex, the ACTIU Technology Park is a world-leading example of state-of-the-art design and sustainability.

Despite the immense sizeof the business, ACTIU still proudly enjoys strong family lines with the original founders – Head of Communications is Soledat Berbegal, one such employee.

Soledat Berbegal – ACTIU

Visiting Sydney, Australia recently, Soledat presented ACTIU as a European case-study demonstrating that a holistic approach to sustainability when applied to industry is possible.  Leading industry figures gathered to engage in a forum that broached the implementation of practices that would ensure truly green manufacturing alongside healthy profitabilty.
