A design narrative based on the fabled Lamarck University is just one of the many unusual features that will draw your attention at the JW Marriott Phu Quoc Emerald Bay Resort and Spa in Vietnam. Located on Phu Quoc, a hidden paradise in a relatively unexplored area of Vietnam, this flagship property of the world-leading luxury hotel brand JW Marriott Hotels and Resorts combines modern comforts with a tropical island setting and a top quality service offering to create truly unique experiences for the international traveller.
Designed by renowned architect Bill Bensley, the JW Marriott Phu Quoc Emerald Bay Resort and Spa offers a selection of 243 luxurious rooms, suites, apartments and villas with the emerald hue of the ocean forming the perfect backdrop; the generously laid out guestrooms provide both opportunity and space for indulgence. The university theme runs across the entire resort with each building wing representing a different academic department. For instance, one particular wing modelled after the Department of Zoology carries the animal motif throughout its artwork and sculptures.
The highly detailed and carefully crafted interiors, inspired by the different wings of academia, ensure a beautifully diverse campus where no two spaces are alike, offering guests something new to discover wherever they go.
No hotel or resort is complete without a rich culinary offering. The JW Marriott Phu Quoc Emerald Bay Resort and Spa doesn’t disappoint, with three restaurants and contemporary bars providing an exceptional global gastronomic journey through Asian, European and American cuisines. Tempus Fugit or “time flies” (complete with a Department of Architecture themed decor) offers three distinctive dining experiences – authentic Vietnamese, contemporary Japanese and classic French – masterfully prepared by talented chefs using locally sourced produce and the finest ingredients from around the world.
Red Rum is the beachside seafood grill in a casual setting while Pink Pearl serves exquisite Cantonese cuisine in a beachfront mansion. Continuing with the university theme, the Department of Chemistry Bar has resident “chemists” presiding over some heady elixirs while you admire the beautiful Emerald Bay.
In addition, with a 1,100sqm meeting space, 715sqm grand ballroom, spacious breakout rooms and dedicated event professionals, the JW Marriott Phu Quoc Emerald Bay Resort and Spa has been designed to accommodate a wide range of events from conferences to events to destination weddings and more.
