How can the built environment sector address increasingly urgent challenges such as climate change and manpower scarcity? What can the sector do to design, build and operate to sustain competitiveness while keeping with the Singapore Green Plan 2030? The International Built Environment Week (IBEW) 2022 is set to address these questions with its focus on digital technologies and solutions.
Leading experts and industry players are convening to showcase digital technologies that support and accelerate the growth of the built environment industry. This much-anticipated week comprises IBEW, which runs from 5th to 9th September 2022, with the tentpole IBEW Conference and trade exhibition BEX Asia, which runs from 6th to 8th September 2022. To be held at Sands Expo & Convention Centre, both physical programmes will feature cutting-edge technologies like 3D scanning, IoT-powered energy and facilities solutions, and Integrated Digital Delivery for projects.
In line with the sector’s rapid digital transformation and evolving demands, BEX Asia 2022 places a strong focus on digitalisation solutions. Approximately 200 brands and solutions from more than 20 countries will showcase at the event. More than 10,000 professionals and decision-makers from Singapore, the region and beyond are expected to be hosted at BEX Asia. Solutions for the built environment to be showcased include HVAC, robotics systems, building materials, energy management, IoT sensors and digitalisation.
Tech and digital companies such as Autodesk, Cupix and Hitachi Asia will also feature technologies and solutions set to revolutionise the industry. Visitors can also expect to see other familiar names such as Camfil Singapore, Daikin Airconditioning Singapore, Nippon Paint, Singapore Polytechnic, Wavin Singapore, Ministry of Clean, Procore Technologies and Schindler Lifts (Singapore).
For thought leadership and the latest insights on the sector, visitors can expect to hear from more than 65 industry leaders and domain experts at the IBEW Conference. They include Mr. Moshe Safdie, the founder of Safdie Architects, Prof Jason Pomeroy, Founding Principal of Pomeroy Studio & Pomeroy Academy, and Ar. Tang Kok Thye, President of Singapore Green Building Council. Other events include site visits and the by-invite-only ‘CEOs in Conversation’ on 8th September, which will bring together about 400 CEOs and senior management of major companies to discuss and share on the collective action built environment companies can do to facilitate growth.
