Grafunkt turns ten this year! And it celebrated the milestone with a brand new showroom at Funan, fresh new branding and chic new collab uniforms.

Beloved homegrown furniture retailer Grafunkt turns ten this year! And it celebrated the milestone with a new space and fresh branding.
Founded by Jefery Kurniadidjaja and Nathan Yong in 2009, Grafunkt navigates the oft-turbulent waters of the furniture industry with aplomb, and it has successfully docked in Funan, one of Singapore’s hippest retail destinations.
Affectionately called the Grafunkt Design District, the 13,500-sqft showroom designed by FUUR Associates is located on the fourth level, with direct access from the street via escalators. The showroom aims to inspire and promote a lifestyle more considered.
The airy showroom is decidedly free of embellishment. “We pick out products that exemplify thoughtfulness in both design and manufacturing process for our space, translating to a seamless unfolding of our brands’ stories,” said Yong.
“We want to enable our customers to experience intimately the lifestyle that is a culmination of good design and good thinking, without constantly facing the stress of purchase,” he added.
Grafunkt celebrated the anniversary and the new showroom with a party last week, where it revealed the concept behind its new branding.
“Our first decade has been one of constant learning, building and transforming. As such, we decided it was time to renew the Grafunkt image as we step into our next decade,” said Yong
Yong also announced that Grafunkt aims to launch at least one collaboration each year, beginning with its own logo and uniform.
The brand has swapped its graffiti logo with a more refined signature script designed in collaboration with Hanson Ho of H55.
It has also given its staff a brand new uniform, a chic but functional black ensemble designed in collaboration with fashion designer Pit Firdaus of local brand Vetyver.
And what’s a furniture showroom launch without a lucky draw? The evening’s lucky winner was Timo Wong of Studio Juju, who took home Louis Poulsen Panton table lamp.
